TIn 2012, a potential marking of the Meridian somewhere in the Parish of Hamsey was under discussion by the Parish Council. Their ambition was finally realised in 2014 with the erection of this sign for which planning permission was granted on 13 May 2014 (application number LW/14/0144). The Parish Council agreed to pay the £390 cost of the timber at their meeting on 10 July 2014. The sign was erected by the Monday Group on 27 October of 2014.
