Estcots Farm House is one of the oldest buildings in East Grinstead. At the time of the millennium when it was operating as a B&B, it claimed to have a sundial located on the Meridian (presumably in its rear garden). The images show the farmhouse with its front garden.
In 2003, a planning application (GR/03/02468/FUL) was made to build a house at the bottom of the rear garden, with access from Estcots Drive. Amongst the many objections was one that the Meridian marker on Estcots Drive would need to be repositioned if the scheme went ahead. Following various changes, planning permission (subject to various provisos) was granted in March 2004.
