This Millennium Tree Line planting on the south-facing scarp of the North Downs is in a tranche of woodland known as the Titsey Plantation – part of the Titsey Estate and administered by the Titsey Foundation. The soil is chalky, supporting a range of broad-leaved tress of mixed ages from mature giants to areas of regeneration following sporadic windblow (much of which dates back to the 1987 storms). Although the planting site is unmarked, the tree is the only whitebeam (sorbus aria) in the vicinity.
