Stickney Farm Park was opened by HRH The Duke of Kent on 5 April 2005. It had to close temporarily in 2009 as a result of the recession combined with and an e-coli outbreak at a similar visitor attraction in Surrey. It reopened in time for Easter 2010, but was forced to close it doors permanently in April 2011, at which point many of the animals were re-homed. In the autumn of 2016, the site was reopened under new ownership as the Ark Wildlife Park. The Meridian Mark has been retained and can now be visited once again.
