In 2009, a new outdoors events arena was opened in Cleethorpes on the site previously occupied by a miniature golf course. Because of its proximity to the Greenwich Meridian, the arena was given the name Meridian Park. At around the same time, the previously unnamed access road that ran to its rear was named Meridian Road, the nearby Retail & Leisure Park renamed Meridian Point and a new building of seven craft units erected (Meridian Point Craft Centre). Although Meridian Park, Meridian Point and the Meridian Point Craft Centre are all to the west of the Meridian, the Meridian does cross Meridian Road shortly before it terminates in a car park at its eastern end.
